Annette Gilson
author of New Light from Black Heron Press
Annette Gilson was born in New Jersey and educated at Bard College and
Washington University in Saint Louis where she earned her Ph.D.
She lived
abroad and in New York City for several years, and is currently an
associate
professor of creative writing and contemporary literature at Oakland
University
in Rochester, Michigan. In addition to her fiction, she has
published
poetry as well as essays on contemporary authors in such journals as
Modern
Fiction Studies and Twentieth Century Literature.
She lives with her husband, Stephan Poag, and two badly-behaved but
endearing dogs on the
shore of a small lake in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
